Maltese PhD Student wins the International Heat of the IMechE SOFE, 2018

The MGPEI congratulates Mr Donald Dalli who won the International Heat for the IMechE Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) competition, held on the 17th February 2018 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Mr Dalli represented Europe and competed with another five participants, representing the Americas, Europe, Middle East, North East Asia, Oceania and Southern Asia regions.

His research work, funded by the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST), focuses on the biomechanics of hip joints. The MALTAHIP project involves the interdisciplinary collaboration of the Department of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, together with the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, at the Faculty of Engineering.
